Best Hotels in Danang: A Vacation Away from the Bustle

Danang is the third-largest city in Vietnam famous for its beach hotels, world-class golfing, and of course Ba Na Hills entertainment resort. With its international airport and better domestic linking, Danang is a perfect location for easy access to Hoi An, and follow-on journeys to Hue. Hotels in Danang are not just about the beach or resorts because there are also wonderful boutique stays and hotels with views of the famous Dragon Bridge.

Best Beach Hotels in Danang

The main Danang foreshore runs for over 3 km, but the most popular part is My Khe Beach. Dotted with picturesque thatched parasols and comfy sun loungers, the southern part is more famous for its trendy neighborhoods, restaurants, and cafes.

Haian Beach Hotel and Spa

Haian Beach Hotel and Spa

  • Large rooftop infinity pool
  • Poolside snack menu
  • Free airport shuttle on request
  • Complimentary afternoon tea
  • Suites & apartment rooms too

This 4-star Danang beach hotel is relatively new opening in 2018. People love the pool area and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Apart from hotel rooms, there are also one, two, and three bedroomed apartments. In-room breakfast is also an option.

The restaurant is relatively good with a full Asian and European a la carte menu. The buffet breakfast is also well appreciated with kid-friendly options. Afternoon tea can be had in the lobby cafe or at the poolside.

Haian Beach Hotel is down the southern section of My Khe Beach. Just a 5-min-walk behind the hotel is a trendy neighborhood with places like Section 30 Craft Beer, Roots Vegan Cafe, Windsor Tea House, and other popular cafes and bars.

Rosamia Da Nang Hotel

Rosamia Da Nang Hotel

Key Notes

  • Large infinity rooftop pool
  • Indoor pool, steam room & sauna
  • Top class gym
  • 2-roomed family suites
  • Kids club & game room

There aren’t a lot of all-round fantastic 5-star properties on the Danang foreshore excluding resorts. The Rosamia is probably about the best you can get along the main My Khe Beach front. It’s next to the newer Haian Beach Hotel.

The rooftop infinity pool and sky bar are two of its most appreciated features. The gym is also more than one would expect and has PT trainers, fitness and yoga classes. The indoor pool nearby, however, lacks heating but there’s a sauna and steam room attached.

The 2-roomed suites are really nice and they have additional childcare services. For a 5-star Danang hotel, the service and staff are excellent. However, the construction could have better sound-proofing and the restaurant, while good, is not exactly a 5-star experience. All considering, it is a little pricey.

Sel de Mer Hotel and Suites

Sel de Mer Hotel and Suites

Key Notes

  • Excellent friendly service
  • Newly completed in 2020
  • In-room breakfast
  • Suite rooms with afternoon tea

The location is in the quieter mid-section of Pham Van Dong Beach. The hotel restaurant is closed until December 2021 and dining options nearby are few which means a taxi ride down the beach or into town.

Seashore Hotel and Apartments

Seashore Hotel and Apartments

Key Notes

  • Quiet north beach location
  • Spacious rooms and studios
  • Free bicycles
  • Motorbike rental

Northern Pham Dong Beach of the Danang foreshore is more for getting away from the bustle. For the price and nice rooms, Seashore Hotel is not a bad deal. It’s not so far from the Son Tra Peninsula overlooking a picturesque fishing bay.

The free bikes are great for exploring the quieter inner neighborhoods, and also up to the Lady Buddha if you have the legs. The beachfront has facilities for rent. As of March 2021, the rooftop pool and bar area is up for renovation, and the restaurant cannot always be relied upon to be open.

The breakfast is okay, but caters more to Asian tastes. There are the big seafood restaurants nearby, but if you go down the street, then up two blocks and turn right,  Chickpea Eatery is a great little vegetarian restaurant. Other than that, they have motorbikes for rent.

Luxury Hotels near Danang Beach Foreshore

Hotels situated a little behind the beachfront Võ Nguyên Giáp Boulevard may not have perfect seaviews, but they are often in quieter locations and closer to interesting cafes and restaurants.

Sala Danang Beach Hotel

  • Newly opened in 2019
  • Infinity rooftop pool
  • Rooftop bar and snacks
  • Free airport and city shuttle
  • Full spa and wellness services

Sala is a 4-star hotel that opened mid-2019 and is a welcomed competitive addition to the main foreshore of My Khe Beach. It’s situated along the road behind the Grand Torraine Hotel and is less than a 5 min walk around to the beach.

The upper floors and popular rooftop infinity pool have unobstructed ocean views. The breakfast buffet is always well received, even during pandemic times, and the restaurant serves full Asian, Western, and Mediterranean food.

On the downside, the gym is kind of cramped and the carpeted floor is not so great. There aren’t a lot of dining options around the hotel, but there is a convenience store down the road.

The pool views are fantastic, but the pool is not so big with only three loungers. They serve delicious cocktails by the pool bar. Breakfast is done well with just enough choice and there’s an a la carte restaurant.

A few blocks behind, you’ll find a few streets with really good restaurants from Korean barbecue, to Japanese sushi, local burger shops, craft beer, and Italian fusion.
