The original concept of Green Bay Resort was to preserve, and restore, as much of the natural environment as possible. Leisurely walks through the resort take you along shaded rustic and paved paths, or elevated wooden walkways.
There are pleasant jaunts along the shorefront and even a lotus lake to delight in. Sandy and shaded beach areas taper into more rocky and secluded locations. There’s also shallow reef for diving nearby.

At Green Bay Phu Quoc you can wake up to trees enveloping your bungalow, or vistas of indigenous garden landscaping. Alternatively, enjoy ocean views from your beachfront verandah. Exclusive pool villas and pavilions perched higher up give you a bird’s eye view of the tranquil seas around the island.
Accommodations all have comfy verandah seatings. Spacious interiors are sustainable wood set against a refreshing white background. Lighting is subdued and you have the choice of ceiling fans or air conditioning.
Luxuries include Egyptian cotton sheets, and some bungalows have an outdoor tub or rainshower. The sunken Roman baths are appealing, but often the solar heating doesn’t match capacity. Mod-cons include TV, WiFi, and handy sockets near the bed. Two-bedroomed family bungalows have ensuite bathrooms for both rooms.

For spa lovers, take time out in the aromatherapy steam room, the natural cedar sauna, or the mineral Jacuzzi. You can book a traditional Vietnamese massage — even outdoors. Or, enjoy hot stones, Thai, Swedish, or wax candle massages. Pedicures and manicures are also available.

Green Bay Restaurant is in the heart of the resort, just behind the main pool. The breakfast buffet has a wide spread of Vietnamese and international fare. There’s enough choice and a la carte options to keep you satisfied for a few days.
The Tiki cocktail lounge has fantastic views over the gulf, and you can also enjoy Al Fresco dining at Gio, their Vietnamese specialty restaurant. The chefs can also handle special requests off the menu, especially if you prefer more vegetarian options.
For the most part, food and beverage are of a high quality matching the no-fuss feel of the resort. Pricing, however, especially for drinks, is not the most competitive. A nice touch though is the complimentary afternoon tea which starts at 3 pm.
Families and Deals at Green Bay Resort
For a comfortable family stay at Green Bay Resort Phu Quoc, family bungalows or private villas are the best choices. The sandy and clean beachfront is perfect for youngsters, especially in terms of the trees and shade. You can also go on nice long strolls with your children or enjoy the complimentary bike rides.
There’s no organized kids club as such, but a playground is the next upgrade to be featured at the resort. The main pool by Green Bay Restaurant is actually heated and has a shallow annex for young children. Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort & Spa is quite popular with honeymooning couples, and they have special packages for the occasion.
Exploring Phu Quoc from Green Bay Resort & Spa
Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort and Spa is in a relatively secluded part of the island. From this point of view, it’s actually a great complement to exploring the more untouched areas of Phu Quoc. To do this, it’s best to rent a motorbike from the resort. Currently in 2021, the cost is 250 000 VND for the day.
Less than 2 km north of the resort you’ll come to Vung Boa or Half Moon Beach. Here, you can enjoy one of the more unspoilt beaches of Phu Quoc.
You can also rent kayaks at the beach for exploring further up the shoreline, even to Fingernail Island (Hòn Móng Tay). Fingernail Island is one of the top recommended diving spots for Phu Quoc.
There’s not a lot to do around at night, but there is another restaurant in the nearby resort you can visit for some variety. If you’re looking for some more action or options in the way of shopping, it’s best to get a taxi into downtown Phu Quoc.
The resort does have its own concierge, and they are very helpful and informative. Other easily accessible places from Green Bay Resort are the Vinpearl Safari Park and Phu Quoc National Park.

Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort is refreshing for its natural simplicity coupled with affordable luxury. It’s a wonderful location with a well-kept beach and a nice range of complimentary activities. English communication can be hit and miss, and things may not always run as smoothly as a polished 5-star. Few resorts offer such genuine closeness to nature. They have more potential to realize, however, in terms of greater sustainability, more children’s activities, and upgraded services.
