Movenpick Phu Quoc as an All-in-One Destination

Movenpick Resort is on the west side of Phu Quoc Island with stunning sunset views over the Gulf of Thailand. It’s to the north of the island along the famed Ong Lang Beach about 35 km from Phu Quoc International Airport
Although Phu Quoc Island has plenty to do and see, Movenpick is a destination on its own. For some people, this is idyllic and Movenpick does it more replete than others. The rest of Phu Quoc Island is never far away, but everything is taken care of in style and luxury.
Movenpick is a spacious resort, but at the same time it’s not what one would call secluded. If you enjoy people, activities, and happy kids and families around, Movenpick may have made the choice for you. The resort was the 2020 winner for Best Family Luxury Resort in Asia at the Luxury Hotel Awards.
Replete Living Spaces at Movenpick Resort Waverly
Along the palm studded foreshore of Movenpick Resort is a stunning lagoon infinity pool. To the side of the resort hotel is an artificial lake surrounded by pool villas. These taper to an exclusive residential complex with its own pools, restaurant, and bar.
Movenpick Villas and Residences

The private pool villas are mostly lake facing. However, a select number are exclusive three-roomed beachfront villas. From the master bedroom, with its private ensuite, you step out to the pool and the palm tempered shoreline.
There’s a separate entrance for the other rooms as well, an open living space, and a kitchenette. However, the sunken atrium by the pool, and veranda lounging, is impeccable.
Lakeside villas can be anything from one to three rooms, while the premium four room Presidential Villa is oceanside. Extra privileges for your villa can include a personal butler, floating breakfast at your pool, and villa front barbecues on request.

For additional privacy away from the main resort hub, or recommended for longer stays, are the Residences. These have mountain and sea facing studios and two-bedroomed family quarters. All have a walk in shower, a kitchenette, and a fridge. In the studios, the tub is extra deep soaking. The broad freeform pool, a Movenpick delight, resembles a palm studded oasis.
Movenpick Resort Accomodations

If you desire to be more at the center of things, then make your booking at Movenpick Resort. There are free bicycles to get around the resort and buggies if you prefer a more exclusive villa.
All living spaces across the resort, villas, and residences are imbued with cream shades and soft earthy browns. The generous wood panelings and lattices add a sophisticated island touch. These are sometimes set off with regal blues and purple which exude a confident lived-in appeal.
Here, family rooms typically have two double beds, but you can also book an oceanview suite. Superior King Rooms have direct access to the pool which arches and snakes back around the broad pool area. There are interconnecting rooms, but the sound proofing between them is not so great.
Priority of Younger Guests at Movenpick Phu Quoc

At Movenpick resorts and hotels, younger guests are at the core of the brand experience. There are age appropriate facilities, activities, and food menus available. For kids there’s the Little Birds’ Club, and for teens the MLounge Club.
The best thing to keep younger children occupied is often the pool. And, there are two pools for children at the resort. One is part of the infinity beachfront pool, the other by the Residences. However, as a new development, shade is not so plentiful around the pools and outdoor playgrounds.
At Little Birds’ Club there are numerous creative activities on schedule, a game station, and cooking classes. Outdoor movies for kids and teens are often scheduled for at least three times a week.
There is also an all-day ice cream parlor (on charge) and a club menu for younger tastes. Apart from the daily complimentary chocolate hour, which is a great treat for children, there is an additional chocolate fountain for treats by the infinity pool bar.
Activities and Relaxation for Adults

As an all-in-one destination, Movenpick has numerous fitness and wellness programs for adults. Scheduled activities can include early morning workouts, ‘bootcamp training’, yoga on the beach, or even water boxing in the pool.
There are also typical activities like beach football, volleyball, and indoor badminton. In addition, the Elements Fitness Center is spacious and very well equipped. By the beach there’s a watersports center for complementary things like kayaks. The resort pathways are also good enough for some jogging runs.
For complete relaxation, try the Elements Spa & Salon which also features a sauna and jacuzzi. It has 15 private treatment rooms with a range of wellness therapies plus a hair salon and nail station.
The resort often organizes special entertainment events. These include popular festive days, fun and competitive events, or evening entertainment. Events may be limited during periods of restricted gatherings.
Gourmet Moments at Movenpick Phu Quoc

Movenpick always checks out with quality food and beverage experiences. Movenpick Phu Quoc is especially selective with its smorgasbord of Vietnamese fare. The signature Movenpick Chocolate Hour is a complementary gourmet event served as an afternoon tea between 4 pm to 5 pm.
World Cuisine and Select Vietnamese Fair

The Islander is scene to the sumptuous morning buffet and live cooking stations. Here you can enjoy a selection of Vietnamese, Asian, and Western cuisine including Australian beef, lamb, and Swiss veal.
There is also a Pizza and Pasta Station, and the Kids’ Menu includes a dessert menu. There are a few Phu Quoc favorites to try, especially the salt and lemongrass chicken. The fair is seafood focused, with quality matched to good pricing.
If you would like a quieter dining experience, head over to the Residences. Here you will find the lovely, spacious, and breezy Lang Chai. This restaurant specializes in VIetnamese fair across the country. It also features delectable vegetarian dishes.
Places to Relax and Chill

Next to the Lang Chai restaurant is also the Lang Chai Bar. It’s a select venue enjoying traditional Vietnamese beverages, local craft beers, and island inspired mixes.
By the infinity swimming pool is the Aurora Beach Club. Relax in open poolside seating with glimpses of palm trees and the glinting ocean. It features a sunken poolside bar and an Asian tapas menu.
For choice beverages, Vietnamese coffees, and fine teas with light snacks and pastries, you can try the Waverly Lounge. All venues have a sophisticated feel complimented to a casual island breeziness.
Discovering More Around Phu Quoc

Movenpick Phu Quoc is an integrated destination, which means everything you need is basically there. However, there are many unique and interesting things to see and do around Phu Quoc.
A visit to a nearby pepper farm is well recommended. Movenpick is also not too far from the Vinpearl Safari and VinPearl Wonders entertainment parks. Other key attractions like Phu Quoc Prison and Pineapple Island are about an hour away to the south.
Unfortunately, the resort currently doesn’t provide shuttle to the main center or other popular destinations. You have to arrange through the concierge for tours or a taxi to get you around. Also, the resort is not so geared towards the adventurous traveler and doesn’t have motorbikes for hire.
