Nha Trang is the quintessential party beach town with some of the best scuba diving in Vietnam, idyllic coastline, and perfect island beaches scattered around its bay. Since its inception, the Skylight 360 Rooftop Beach Club has also put Nha Trang on the map for top entertainment venues. We see what it’s all about and snag other top picks for Nha Trang’s surviving nightlife in 2021.
Skylight Nha Trang – Vietnam’s First Rooftop Beach Club
The Skylight Beach Club is located on the 43rd floor and rooftop of the Premier Havana Hotel on the tip of Nha Trang’s foreshore. It opened in 2016 as Vietnam’s very first and only rooftop beach club and entertainment facility.
In February of 2021, Skylight 360 celebrated it’s 5th anniversary and remains a force along the Nha Trang entertainment foreshore despite the ravagers of the ongoing pandemic. A major facelift is due to be finished by July of 2021.
The Man Behind Skylight Nha Trang – TK Nguyen
Skylight is the brainchild of TK Nguyen, a Vietnamese American who was born and grew up in California. In 2011 he returned to his roots in Vietnam when the tourist boom and highrise development had just kicked off.
While looking for a location for a new venture, the Havana Hotel was still under construction and a helicopter pad was the only intention for the rooftop. It only took 4 days for him to seal the deal for the long term development of his rooftop vision.

Beach Club Dance Floor
The Beach Club is the main drawcard of the Skylight Nha Trang complex. It’s one of the few open-air dance floors still active— except for some beachfront action that spills over at the Sailing Club down the road.
At the back is the bar, and in the front of the dance floor is a large screen and lights where the DJ action happens. The dance floor itself doesn’t have open views of the skyline. For this, you have to get a ticket for the VIP area on the side which has prime views and coach seating.
The dance floor is not as big as you can expect in an indoor club, but it holds a good crowd and doesn’t take much to get the atmosphere going. Regular dance floor features are stilt walkers, exotic dancers, and popular character appearances such as Brown and Cony from Line messaging application.
There’s always a great lineup of music with in-house DJs and popular touring DJs too. Due to pandemic restrictions, only top local DJs appear regularly such as N2Bros, DJ Jenny Yen, Dj ShenLongZ, and Dj Mynhon.
There’s a regular Happy Hour with a buy one get one free promotion every day from 17:00 to 20:00. There are additional discounts and promotions for ladies on Fridays and Saturdays.
Chef’s Club or Skylight Restaurant
The fine dining you can enjoy at the club restaurant is also what sets Skylight Nha Trang aside from other locations. It makes for a perfect family outing where you can also enjoy the additional attractions of the 360 View Deck and the Glass Balcony. The main restaurant is at the opposite end to the club so a kind of separate experience.
The restaurant features top-class chefs including consulting chef Michael Bao— Iron Chef Vietnam 2013 Winner and Best Chef 2003 New York Magazine. Their restaurant is one of the best places for Western cuisine in Nha Trang as well as Vietnamese favorite. You can view the PDF menu online.
The main restaurant is quite sizable and is surrounded by glass window. It’s decked with trees and a hanging garden with wooden terrace chairs and cane furnishings. Special booking can accommodate 50 to 500 people and can include buffet events and live music.
The Pool Deck
The pool deck is really just an outdoor extension of the restaurant. The pool is for the ambiance and not for swimming, so no need to dress up in your trunks. Poolside tables are a more quiet and relaxing location.
At the far end of this area is the Glass Balcony which is included in the entrance ticket. You can see the street below and take some cool pics. To the side of the pool area is the secluded Corona lounge with soft sofas and a nice place to relax with good views and a drink.
SkyWalk Viewing Bridge
This is the glass balcony at the rear end of the pool. Entry is not free, but is limited and included in the entrance ticket. It’s a great place for photographs, and especially the beautiful sunset views of the western sky over the city.
Lighthouse and 360 View Deck
The 360 viewing deck is the base that surrounds the iconic ‘lighthouse’. Stationed around the deck are binoculars for better viewing. The View Deck is accessible with a standard ticket. You cannot take drinks up to the view deck.
The Skylight lighthouse is 151 meters high and is visible at night from all around Nha Trang city. Below the view deck are also quiet areas where you can sit on benches and view some skyline.
More of the Best Nightlife in Nha Trang
Many entertainment and tourist businesses in Nha Trang have been severely hit during the pandemic period. Quite a number of tourist-based businesses that used to be quite popular have shut down. For now, the best night spots still going in Nha Trang are mostly connected to major hotels, or have always been more popular with local clientele.
All locations mentioned can be researched via their FaceBook pages for current status updates.

Altitude Rooftop Bar
For another entertainment venue a cut above the rest, the Altitude Rooftop Bar is part of the Marriott Sheraton Hotel. It’s just a block up from Skylight Nha Trang. Their premium cocktails are great, though relatively pricey. Happy Hour is from 17:00 to 19:00 with a 50% discount when you order a minimum of 2 drinks per person.
There’s no entry fee and the view is free. The food menu is reasonable, there’s a nice cheese platter, and their wine selection is mostly New World. Sometimes they have special evenings, wine promotions, parties, or rooftop barbecues.
Sailing Club Nha Trang
Not exactly part of a yacht club or harbor, this dance club can’t be missed as you drive along the main strip. The club has a couple of dance floors so you can choose your likely crowd. Entrance is 150 000 VND. They also have visiting DJs and there are seats to relax facing the ocean.
Sailing Club can pull off some nice parties, but other times they’re hit or miss. They also open from 7 AM in the morning if you’re looking for a really nice breakfast or brunch. Prices are towards the upper end.
If your idea of a night out is beer and food, then head over to the Louisiana Brewhouse. Unlike other craft beer houses, they actually brew their own beer and have been doing so since 2006.
You can also enjoy outdoor seating around the pool. Special events may include live music. Their extensive menu can be viewed online. You can also book daytime brewery tours.
Havana Club is a basement level club on the foreshore almost opposite Skylight Nha Trang (in the Havana Hotel), but they are not related. It’s popular with local younger crowds, but may not jive with foreign visitors unless you’re with Vietnamese friends.
Havana has a superb sound system and is an LED paradise with multiple mesmerizing light displays. They also have visiting Djs, regular Happy Hours, Ladies’ Nights, and other special events. Nearby Z-Club, a popular Russian outfit, that was on the corner by Akira Sushi, is no longer operating.
Vuvuzela Beer Club Nha Trang
Vuvuzela also has clubs going in HCMC and Hanoi. They’re kind of like a cross between a sports bar with big screens and a Vietnamese Hooters with scantily clad waitresses. They serve a lot of American style food. Generally, young hard-working people like to come here to unwind.
Smaller Local Establishments
Jelly Brew Pub is a colorful and funky location with the best variety of beers on tap and imported craft beers in Nha Trang. They cook up some nice foods too and everything is very affordable.
J Cafe & Bar is the best place in town to enjoy live music with some pretty good local and visiting talents. They have a nice variety of seating arrangements and an adhoc dance floor. There’s also regular ‘open mike’ evenings for any budding superstar. They don’t serve food.
MiJack Bar is a wood-paneled bar dedicated to pictures of MJ King of Pop. It’s popular with locals and expats alike. They have a bar counter and cozy corners with classic sofa furnishings. They also serve typical beer foods and fries.
